Fyrdriel is a tall, lanky lanky woman with pale pink skin and long turquoise hair.

Born several centuries before the sundering, Fyrdriel Oceansong always knew she wanted to become a warrior. For this purpose, she trained tirelessly in archery and in hippogryph riding so that she could take to the skies to patrol the coast of her beloved city of Zoram. These skills proved invaluable during the War of the Ancients where she fought valiantly to defeat the Burning Legion.

After the war's end, with her city having been swallowed by the sea, she decided to settle down in Darkshore where she was reunited with her little sister, Shaldira. Through Shaldira, Fyrdriel was introduced to Haladar Wildstrike, a master swordsman who had fought with the Kaldorei resistance. The two struck a bond almost instantly and the two shalan lived together happily for thousands of years. Fyrdriel took up a post in the newly formed Sentinels and Haladar lived a peaceful life wandering the forest offering his services and protection to any who needed it. The pair desperately wanted to have children, but never had any success. This did not bother them terribly until the Battle of Mount Hyjal where they lost their immortality.

With the clock now ticking and no child to call her own, Fyrdriel turned her affections upon a young orphan girl who wanted to join the Sentinels to avenge the deaths of her parents after the Third War. She granted her request despite her being only 22 years old at the time, turning many heads among Sentinel command. In spite of this, though, the girl turned out to be a brilliant assassin and her exploits helped Fyrdriel earn her promotion from captain to commander. She then gave her old captain position to Velrin, hoping that the responsibility might help her move on from simple vengeance and learn to live for others.

However, with the Wrathgate Incident Fyrdriel was left alone with her shalan murdered and her beloved protégé consumed with rage. Now she struggles to carry on, feeling that she has failed all those she held dear.

Relationships

Velrin
"Without a daughter to call my own and my immortality gone, I've turned to this poor girl hoping perhaps she might think of me as a mother in Tenniria's stead. I feel arrogant for assuming I could replace her, Silverbloom, the fiercest of Anareline's students. So instead what have I done? I am a Sentinel, so I have tried to give her purpose by allowing her to become a warrior. But in doing so I have robbed her of her childhood and thrust her into a position that each day I fear she is still too immature to hold… Tell me Elune. How is it that I have meddled in this girl’s destiny so greatly, yet still I have not done enough for her?”
Sister
"My precious little sister. I cursed myself a little for not having taught her to fight like she asked when she was young, but because of her inexperience she met my beloved and brought him to me. He taught her better than I ever could have. I am proud to see everything she has become all on her own."
