Broll Bearmantle is a rather buff kaldorei man with purple skin and long green hair. He generally wears this loosely tied back, and also has a full beard. He was born with antlers, which led him to a great deal of insecurity as kaldorei society assumed this meant he was destined for greatness. As he grew up, Broll was a perfectly decent druid, but nothing particularly special. In time he was even given the Idol of Remulos, which tied him to the Emerald Dream, but it also did not help him develop his powers. He lived his life through the centuries, and eventually he had a daughter (mother unknown) named Anessa.
It was during the Third War that a moment of testing came to him, when he and his daughter were cut off from the main force and fought to their limit against powerful demons. Broll was overwhelmed by the pit lord Azgalor, and as he fell he dropped the idol. Azgalor struck it, infusing it with fel power and causing an explosion that killed Anessa. In his grief and guilt, he lost access to all of his animal forms except the bear.
Broll then left kaldorei society and sold himself into slavery as a gladiator, starting a period of his life when he befriended Varian Wrynn in the form of Lo'gosh the gladiator, as well as Valeera Sanguinar. Broll remained with Varian until he returned to Stormwind, at which point Broll returned to the Cenarion Circle under Fandral Staghelm.
Broll then took part in the War Against the Nightmare. He had troubling visions of Teldrassil falling to corruption, which eventually led to him joining Tyrande's mission to rescue Malfurion by going physically into the Emerald Dream. After Malfurion was freed, he ended up back at Darnassus to take part in the dethroning of Staghelm, together with a number of Cobalt Company druids. In the process, his eyes turned golden, which made him feel like he was finally a great druid. He then went into the Dream again to help coordinate the dreamform army, which many Cobalt Company members joined. He was called out midway through to help Malfurion kill the Nightmare Lord Xavius, while Hamuul Runetotem took over the army coordination.
After the Cataclysm, Broll is assigned to organizing the druid scouts.
