The Glenarvans are an old and established line of Lordaeranian nobility. After the events of the first war, Lord Audric liquidated most of the family's assets. He sold most of the family's extra land holdings, saving only that which had been entitled to them, and sold townhomes in both Lordaeron and Stormwind. The bulk of the monies were kept in a goblin bank, and Lord Glenarvan hired a team of two to oversee investing it. He then returned to his calvary squadron, and attained the rank of captain during the second war.
After the second war, Lord & Lady Isaline Glenarvan were mainly used in a diplomatic capacity by King Terenas, traveling the battered continent in increasingly futile attempts to hold the Alliance together. Finally, as the Alliance dissolved, they returned to Stormwind to uphold Terenas' promise of aid to young king Varian Wrynn. Lord Glenarvan continued to travel between Stormwind and Lordaeron. His Lady remained in Stormwind to assist with financing the rebuilding efforts, where she and the three children were frequent fixtures in and around aristocratic circles.
Only Lord Glenarvan was on hand to witness Arthas' return. Though the old soldier was badly injured in the panic and melee that occurred after Arthas slew Terenas, he was able to put together a ragged bunch of refugees and guided them safely to Stormwind. With the death of his king, Audric slid into a bleak retirement, confining himself largely to the home purchased by his wife.
